Angela Rayner Part B
The Saga Continues
By Dr Emma Astra, Lived Experience Specialist, 8 September 2025
There was so much I didn’t touch on in my last article.
And already it's caused a social media algorithm explosion.
Okay.
The thing is, what I didn’t touch about Angela Rayner, right?
This gets worse.
You know why it gets worse, right?
The above image was created using AI with the author's prompts.
Because her son's house was put in a trust fund.
Because he won an award for medical negligence from the hospital when he was born —
Which caused his disability.
Okay.
Now: one — they don't want us to raise questions.
"Oh, it's a poor child, leave the family privacy alone."
No.
As a disabled person myself, I have lived that experience.
I've spoken with many disabled people.
I've seen people crushed by the NHS.
We've all seen documentary after documentary about failing maternity services. Nottingham. The national system is failing women consistently.
So let's put this in perspective.
If you or I had a child injured by the NHS —
Do you think we would get that payout?
Do you think we'll receive it quickly?
Or at all?
Exactly.
So how did Angela Rayner get that payout?
Yes, her son was entitled.
But so were thousands of others.
Most of them see nothing.
And then — she was Housing Minister.
Responsible for housing.
Yet didn't know basic rules.
Stamp duty. The very basics.
Anyone else in another job would be sacked.
Gross negligence. Misconduct.
They would be out.
But her? She shrugs. Pleads ignorance.
I want to know what disability support her son actually receives.
Because if a regular person got that payout,
the system would say: "You've had your compensation. No more support."
And then propaganda hits.
The man who cut his own legs off for insurance money.
Stories spun to make payouts look fraudulent.
While companies dodge responsibility.
But Angela?
Squeaky clean again.
This is the thread with politicians.
They claim ignorance.
They get away with things we never could.
Meanwhile, the state crushes everyday people.
Big Brother come to life.
They clamp down on people with low incomes, the vulnerable.
But clamp down on them?
Not a chance.
The Guardian ran with,
"Why are we on a mission to troll her?
Why the hate?"
No.
It's not trolling or hate.
It's exhaustion.
Working-class women like me are sick of hypocrisy.
Sick of contradiction.
Sick of irony turned into policy.
They tell us what not to do.
Then do it themselves.
They tell us to struggle with dignity.
Then rig the system for their own.
We're tired.
Just trying to get through the day.
Nothing to look forward to.
So when a politician breaks the rules they force on us —
We're pissed off.
We're done.
Middle-Class Defences vs Working-Class Reality
And how many articles have I read?
Mainly by middle-class men.
Some by middle-class women.
Journalistic veterans defending Angela.
"Labour would be less working-class without her."
"She's done well with a disabled son."
"She leaves a hole for women in the party."
Please.
I am not alone in refusing that spin.
Working-class voices are saying the same — and louder.
Scorched Reality — politics creator on TikTok.
Video: Angela Rayner cashing in on a disabled son's trust.
Got traction.
Radio Sunshine — pointed out: in 2020, she praised the NHS for her "miracle baby."
Didn't mention the legal settlement at the time.
Kelli Hollis — Emmerdale / Shameless actor, now huge on TikTok.
Says it straight: "Resign your head in shame, Angela Rayner."
DIY Samurai — 43,000 likes on a compilation of Rayner's contradictions.
Hysterical. Worth a watch.
Dan Tromp — disabled comedian with cerebral palsy.
Says using a disabled son's trust to buy a second home was wrong.
"She knew what she was doing. She still did it."
Adds: "This sickens me. Please don't blame me. I didn't vote Labour."
So no — it's not just me.
Working-class people see what's happening.
TikTok shows the anger.
The disconnect.
The raw truth.
Aftermath: What Lingers?
I write when something feels unjust.
When inequality and hypocrisy need to be dragged into the light.
Now it feels like yesterday's news.
It took me days to write this because — well. Justice was "served."
She got the push. Or "resigned."
But what lingers?
Because questions don't vanish.
Why do some families get support while others fight for years?
Why do politicians claim ignorance when we would be punished?
Why do middle-class voices defend what working-class voices call hypocrisy?
She's gone.
But the system remains.
And it stinks.
And this gets worse.
She may have resigned from government, but she's still the MP for Ashton-under-Lyne.
That gives her ongoing influence — especially over housing matters — wherever she chooses to wield it.
